The Smell of Lavender~~~

Lavender Ridge Farms ~~ Gainesville, Texas!
I just love the smell of fresh lavender, don't you? I have loved it for as long as I remember. We have a lavender master bathroom~ decorated in shades of lilac, with all things lavender scattered about. Think a French countryside brimming with the fragrant bloom....that is what our bathroom feels like! So we feel blessed to have found an actual lavender farm just an hour or so away. One day this summer we set out to pick our own. They were having a Lavender Festival the weekend we visited which meant antiquing and other cute stuff~ The girls found these adorable scarves and we just had to get them! There were emus to pet! Then on to the lavender field! I was done picking after, say, 10 minutes. :-) But that sweet husband of mine stayed on picking and delivered to me the most beautiful bouquet of lavender! The girls loved using their own baskets. Afterwards, there were pony rides and we also had lunch in the little cafe. We tried Lavender ice cream & lavender lemonade...yummmm!!! After enjoying my Al-picked lavender in the kitchen for a few days, I hung it to dry next to my vanity~~~ I think we will go back next year! Come and join us!!
