A new attraction in Galveston is the Rainforest Cafe! Such an amazing place. We hadn’t been since Madeline's 4th birthday. The girls loved it!
Did you know they have a jungle-themed Build-A-Bear there? Well, they do. We decided to let them get their vacation souvenir! Marcella Claire chose a Leopard, whom she named “Kitty-Cat”. Madeline chose a rare white tiger, named “Sparkles”!
The next day, I spent some time with Madeline just the 2 of us, floating on a raft together. I sang her our song, “You and Me against the World”. I know that I will remember that moment for the rest of my life. I thought about my little girl growing up and heading off to school. I wanted to stay right there and hold her and not let her go and keep her little forever. But, children grow up and have to experience new things. I can’t imagine my life without her and I’ll never forget how after 2 years of trying, God finally let me carry this sweet little girl in my tummy. A few years later…He blessed us with another princess. It still, to this day, feels like they were miracles and I will never, ever take being able to have them for granted!
We shopped in the historic district (by “we” I mean “me”) and that was great fun. Al got the girls ice cream cones and I checked out a sale on Vera Bradley. Al always lets me get a new Vera on vacation. It started on our honeymoon in Martha’s Vineyard when I bought my first one. I don’t know if her realizes it is a tradition or he just lets me get one….he is so sweet, though, and likes me to have pretty things.
We also went to the Aquarium at Moody Gardens….Marcella especially loved the penguins!
and the turtles…..
and the stingrays….
The trip was relaxing and wonderful and it is hard to believe the beach is so close. We really had a great time! On the way home….Madeline lost another tooth! At a gas station! She is really growing up!!!!
Thanks for looking at my pictures!!! Back to School stuff coming soon!
I truly hope you have all had a wonderful summer!
It will be time for pumpkins soon! Did I really just say that? Yes I did!!!
