A fun Valentine's Weekend...

I hope you all had a wonderful time last weekend! I guess I am a tad behind in posting. I seem to only do it on Tuesdays or Thursdays during Marcella's nap! Anyway....we had our Valentines Day for the girls on Friday and I made them pink (?) scrambled eggs and heart shaped toast. Madeline said "Oh, Mommy, this is just so special! " upon viewing her breakfast. Marcella just stared at her eggs for a second and then gobbled them up! Cute thing...she will just eat anything and doesn't even mind if her different food TOUCHES EACH OTHER!
I love this stage. :-)
After they opened their little gifts and played awhile, we headed to my folks and we were on our way! FREEDOM!!!! hahaha.... We stayed at the Old Mulberry Inn (www.oldmulberryinn.com) and it was lovely, as Madeline would say....we stayed in the French Connection room. It had it's own entrance and beautiful views. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the spring. We did have some daffodils bloom for us, for which I was very grateful.
We had an amazing dinner on Saturday at the Stillwater Inn. I'm so glad we had reservations because every place in town was booked!
And now for our lovely room....Isn't it just precious. Al picked it because he just knew I would love all the chintz and he was right~~~although I don't think he used the word "chintz"..it was something along the lines of "that stuff". ha-ha. He is such a sweetie and knows me so well.

My Al is so sweet. He didn't complain once about all the antique shops I dragged him into. He liked looking at all the old doors and stuff like that. I think he is going to make me a headboard like this one in our room, made from an old door. It is so cute.
We also went to a rather interesting little place called Auntie Skinner's one night. It turned out to be biker bar type place after 8:00. The bartender lady just didn't like me even though I was so sweet to her. She would never smile. So sad to live like that! Al said she sized me up when I walked in the door. I told him she was probably admiring my new Vera Bradley. He said "I DON'T THINK SO!" Ha-ha-ha! Oh well, you can't please everyone! :-)
Our door led to this beautiful porch. They had the most beautiful classical music piped in. So serene!
I didn't take many pictures but we did go on a haunted ghost tour/walk that was interesting and went to a museum, too....shopped a bunch....didn't find too much but a did get a prayer box ring that I just love. Well, thanks for sharing our pictures with us! Have a wonderful week, dear ones!!

Oh Kristina - what a beautiful place - you lucky girl - I wanna go. That room is gorgeous - and the headboard - stunning. I'm sure it would be simple to make - it's just finding the right doors. So glad you had such a great time. You had asked about what I used to adhere the letters - it is modge podge - ya know, that really strong stuff that makes everything stick. Have a great weekend.
