For Today, April 6, 2009...
Outside my window... oh my, it is cold and windy. We had a freeze warning last night, can you believe it? Hope everything made it okay…the flowers and veggies, of course. I am so glad we don’t have to go anywhere today!
I am thinking... how happy I am. How the simple things in my life bring me such joy. I love life and I am so thankful to God for each precious day with my sweet husband and little girls. sigh.
I am thankful for... being able to be an at home wife and mom. This is where I truly feel my calling. There have definitely been different seasons in my life…college student…working girl living on my own….working mom for a couple of years. NOTHING compares to the last 3 years home with my girls. It is the best time of my life, for sure!!!
From the kitchen... a batch of cookies to keep the cookie jar happy. I think I will try something different this week. Hmm…better check out allrecipes.com next! Roast chicken with lemon and fresh rosemary, red potatoes and french green beans for dinner tonight. Roast chicken makes the house smell sooo good and it is so easy to prepare. Al is working from home today and he will love the scents wafting upstairs!
I am wearing... long sleeve shirt, black comfy pants and snuggly socks
I am reading... Farm Chicks in the Kitchen …click on it…my new cookbook…just adorable!
I am hoping... no one falls off the new play set that Al built in the backyard. Al says I worry too much, that “kids are going to fall and break their arm” !!! but sheesh, it is so high!! :-)
I am creating... hmmmm…making up 16 Easter eggs for Madeline to take to school tomorrow. Does that count?
I am hearing... wind chimes going crazy…wind whipping around…Al on a conference call…
Around the house... daily load of laundry…catching the house up from the weekend. steam cleaning the bar stools with my new SpotBot I just got. I love that thing!!!
One of my favorite things... having the whole family home for the day with nowhere to go… managing my family’s time well… makes for happier children…
A few plans for the rest of the week... Madeline’s Easter party at school, preparing for a big family gathering on Easter..no appointments this week..yeah!
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
Hope your day is simple and wonderful, too!!
