Saturday Birthday

This past Saturday we had a wonderful surprise party to attend. My cousin, Alicia's husband, Joe turned the big 6-0! It was so nice to be able to respond to an invitation with "we'd love to come" instead of "sorry, we live in Florida (or Pennsylvania)". I will jump at any chance to spend time with my dear family these days!
We went to this great bbq place in Fort Worth...can't think of the name of it right now, but BOY HOWDY was it good! This is my sweet Aunt Dodie. I JUST ADORE her! She is like a grandma to me. She has taught me a lot about country cookin' and some of my best recipes have come from her. Also, in the picture is my very special Cousin Judy and Cousin Tasha. I have, like, a million cousins and I just love 'em all! Yes, I call them all "Cousin so-and-so". Not sure why...maybe it is southern thing? Anyway, I like to and I think it makes them sound even more special when I talk of them.
These are my cousin Tasha's kids....well 3 of them, anyway. These are the most well behaved children on the planet, I kid you not! (no pun intended). I am so proud of Tasha. She is such an awesome mom...and she is like 10+ years younger than me! Boy, I sound old...so, moving on...
Here are 2 of my good-lookin' cousins and dear friends...Kris and Kelly. They were in my wedding. I love 'em. And that little one is Kris's third little chitlin..Jenna. Cute stuff.
Here is my own chitlin, making goofy faces for me! I don't think she had had any bbq at this point but that might be a big chunk of bread in there....hahaha. I don't know where she gets it!?!?!?!
And finally here is Cousin Joe...the birthday boy. Okay, so he does not look 60 at all, does he? He was quite surprised!!!!
Wow...kids love balloons. Forget all this techy stuff, just give some latex balloons....or at least until they won't stop hitting their sister in the face with them and they are taken away....not naming any names, but it wasn't that table of well mannered kids!!!!!hahaha.
Marcella Claire and her pop-pop (Poppi)
We had a great time and it was so great to see everyone!!!!!
