An Icy Texas Day

What an incredibly fun day we had yesterday! It was an "ice day" here in TX....with everything covered with an inch of ice. A perfect day for sledding! (hey, we make do with what we have!) We still have our sleds from PA. We used them in Florida to drag our beach gear across the sand. They are well loved. Al let some boys from the neighborhood borrow one of them for the day and you would have thought we gave them a million dollars or something. They just kept saying.."Are you serious?!?!? Are you serious?!?!?" Al is so sweet...he is just a big old kid at heart. He is definitely the "fun" dad!
Getting all bundled up!
Almost as good as snow....almost...
I didn't even have mittens for Marcella, so I put socks on her hands! I better get that child some!
The neighborhood boys told us that all the kids were at the school sledding on a giant hill, so of course we had to go check it out. Remember, the elementary is at the end of our street. Very convenient! Our little pampered princesses never had to get out of their sled. Daddy just kept pulling them back up the hill. Fine with me, as it was pretty chilly and the baby was all cozy and warm. They weren't properly dressed to actually get wet...know what I mean?
It was so cute to watch them having such fun. Those boys kept our sled all day and then returned it to our front porch. Really nice kids....I love this new neighborhood!
After a bit, we headed in and I made homemade hot cocoa. I have the best recipe in the world. I think I will post it for you...it is just that good!
Hope you are all enjoying this wonderful winter weather and staying cozy!!!!
I had to attach a few short clips for your viewing pleasure.
