U Pick Grapes

If you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that my family likes to pick things! Last week, the telltale sign close to our home popped up.... "The Grapes are Ready!". Yesterday, we knew it was our chance! These grapes last only a couple of weeks....we couldn't delay! So, off we went!!
Little M hung out in the wagon....see her foot propped up? She likes to play it cool!
Big M helped with the pickin'.... Big K took the pictures.........
Aren't they beautiful? The purple and green colors are just so vibrant. They are also very sweet. This variety is Muscadine. Al and I both remember eating them children but we can't remember where...California maybe? Funny how we remember tastes from our childhood.
Little M decided try her hand at the harvesting.
Of course, I will be making jelly with these. The only kind of jams and jellies I have made have been the freezer variety. This type will have to be boiled and sealed. Wish us luck!!
