A very first cookbook

Madeline got her first cookbook this past weekend and is very excited. I pulled out two of mine that I used a child. This first one is so very 70's isn't it?
This next one I just adored! I must have studied the pages of each of these a hundred times. Thanks mom, for letting these come to live with us.
This is her new cookbook. I told her she could pick out any recipe for us to try right away.

She chose Angel Cake's Baked Macaroni and Cheese. No surprise there!

Gettin' ready....

I actually had to do most of the recipe because it was on the stove, but she didn't mind. She got to dump in and stir up the cheese!!
Yummy! She chose wagon wheel pasta.

The finished product. This recipe made ALOT of mac and cheese. The girls will be eating it for days....which is fine with them! I personally don't care for leftover mac and cheese...too dry. :-)
I like to think I am instilling in her a love for cooking...I think it is working!

Maybe Madeline can whip up some mac & cheese while Nana & Poppy are visiting.

YUMMY!!! I see you've been busy while we've been on vacation. I throw a little extra milk and cheese into the mac and cheese the next day, so it isn't so dry.(PS: Glad you got the dvd -- it made EVERYONE cry!!)
