What I have been up to!

We are getting in the swing of things around here! Honestly, I am not used to having quite so much time on my hands.  This is different than when Madeline went to preschool a couple days a week. That being said, I have lots of fun projects to work on…a little canning, sewing and scrapbooking. I do miss my Madeline, but I am so excited for her. She loves school and each day I am getting a bit more information from her. She shares things with me during dinner, bath, bedtime…etc. Not right when she gets home…the juicy stuff comes out later! Last night while we were reading she said she was afraid we would “never play games together again!” This summer, we had a fun routine of playing all kinds of board games and cards when Marcella napped. It was our special time. She clearly is missing that and I told her we would still do that on the weekends. It’s hard to play Monopoly Junior with a 2 year old trying to rob the bank! :-) Don’t tell her but I am taking her to a special Mother & Daughter tea next month just the 2 of us!

Marcella and I are having such fun together! We read about a thousand books every day. Seriously..she loves them. She is so sweet and quiet and plays nicely…..did I mention it is so quiet around here? I am glad to have the chance to spend so much time with her one on one just like I did with Madeline. 2 is such an awesome year!

Fall activities are about to start up and that might change things up a bit. Madeline is starting ice skating lessons tomorrow and Girl Scouts is in a couple of weeks. I am going to be a Daisy Scout Leader! I am beyond excited! A new Beth Moore bible study starts next week, too. Can’t wait. Marcella will be going to the nursery at church when I am there, so that will give her some good play time. I am trying to arrange my days and not over commit any of us. It is hard because there are so many good things to do!  :-) My family comes first and anything that will take away from them, I will have to say no to. With that said, it is going to be a great year!

Sharing lunch today with Miss Marcella…..

I planned on baking bread this morning but decided on yeast rolls instead. They smell soooo yummy! I am looking forward to fall days soon! The best part of our day now is walking twice a day to Madeline’s school. It is so nice to be out in the fresh air and the walk is just long enough, if you know what I mean, so it never feels like a burden. I am really loving it! I feel truly blessed for these wonderful, simple things each day.DSC05637

I hope you are enjoying your week, too!!
