At the suggestion of my sister-in-law, Liz, we took a short drive to Lake Ray Roberts this weekend to visit one of their beaches! She had told me it was very nice, but I was not expecting this place~ :-)
I truly felt like we were back on the Florida beaches…almost….
It was beautiful with all the trees surrounding us. The girls played forever in the sand and Al and I relaxed in our beach chairs. Only 30 minutes from our house! It amazes me how long we have lived here and never visited the lake beaches. I just didn’t have a clue!
We can’t wait to go back and take family and friends, a picnic or grill stuff and have even more fun! Behind us was covered picnic tables and big playgrounds!
The “waves” continually rolled into shore and the water was great! To top it off, the breezes made it feel very pleasant, even though the high was going to be 100 at that day. We visited in the morning, so Marcella could still get in her very-necessary nap come lunch time!

We are going to a real beach this summer. In fact, we just booked a 2 bedroom beach front condo today. We are staying in Texas, though. We’re still in ultra-save mode and decided to have a frugal trip this time, so no Florida Panhandle. :-) I think God truly shows us and leads us ways to make better decisions if we just listen up. I still can’t wait to go! My girls truly seem happiest in sand and water!

I'm so glad you liked it! It looks like it was a perfect day. I was so surprised at how nice the beach is there! We should try to go as a big family thing before everyone heads off to school.
