Early preparations....

Well, we are headed to Texas tomorrow! In preparation I, sadly, took down my Thanksgiving and autumn decorations. We will be back on the 30th and Christmas will be in full swing! I just know that I will be ready to put up Christmas decorations the minute we get home, and I won't really want to look at pumpkins and turkeys anymore! I also went ahead and put up my Dicken's Village. It takes awhile, so now I am one step ahead when we get back! :-)
Miss Madeline helped me sprinkle the snow! She did a wonderful job. When she was a tiny girl she used to love to look at the twirling dancers in Fezzwig's Warehouse before she went to bed each night. This morning I saw her lifting her baby sister up so she could see the dancers, too. So sweet! I turned the village on for them this morning because it was still dark outside. We usually get up at 6:30. ;-) I haven't bought any new houses in the last few years, but maybe I will next year. I want to keep it "manageable" :-) Plus, it was easier to justify the expense pre-children! I love it and I think it looks magical at night! The church in the center is my favorite piece. Al bought it for me. Its' bells really chime...the girls' love them! I like that crooked tree, too...heehee. We are off to have our family Christmas Portraits done this afternoon...so I hope everyone is smilin'! Have a happy weekend!!
