Daddy always sets up the tree and strings the lights first. He is an expert in lighting! Next, I hang my cherished wooden cranberry garland.
Then, we all hang the ornaments together. We have a "hodgepodge" tree at our home. I love all the
different ornaments we have collected over the years and I love adding new ones each season.
Madeline always puts the silver star on the tree last (with Daddy's help). Next Year she may have to give Marcella a turn. We bought our star the year we got married. We were shopping on Christmas Eve in a quaint little shopping center when we happened upon it. I will never forget getting it, because as we came out of the shop a gentle snow started falling and we hurried along to a Starbucks all hustled and bustled! Each year I lovingly polish it, as it always gets quite tarnished in storage....but I don't mind. I love the memories!
